Bialek's was great to work with. The particular band that we hired was Round Midnight. They were wonderful. Here are our thoughts:Everyone at our wedding commented that the band was amazing. All of our guests were up dancing the whole night. One friend even commented that he had been to dozens of weddings, but that if he was going to host one, he’d fly Round Midnight across the country to be there. They are really a cut above the rest.When we first watched Round Midnights publicity DVD, they really stood out above the other bands we had seen. There is something about their energy and their ability to make songs their own - so that they don’t just sound exactly like the radio version - that makes them a pleasure to watch. It is clear, even from the DVD, that they are great at working a room and keeping people involved. Even with the bar set this high, on the day of the wedding RM totally exceeded our expectations.Working with Bialek’s Music and Tim from Round Midnight was great. They were very clear about the process, and they asked great questions. Tim provided us with a questionnaire to fill out and a song list to identify songs we definitely wanted or definitely didn’t. Then he called the week of the wedding to follow-up and clarify any confusing points. With almost no exceptions, the band did exactly what we had discussed in this phone meeting. Tim did an excellent job of making sure that the bad was really meeting our needsThe members of RM were so warm and personable. They were out talking to guests, and when they came to get our names to introduce us, it was clear they were really interested in being sure they were doing what we wanted. The singers from the band often came down off the stage to wander among the guests and sing with people. It was such a great way to engage the crowd.As we are both Jewish, we wanted Round Midnight to perform a couple of Jewish songs. We were a little nervous about how this would go, as most of the members of the band are not Jewish. We needn’t have worried. The songs were played with the appropriate flare, and they felt very authentic. Our guests were definitely impressed with our fun and enthusiastic hora.We also used RM’s pianist for the music for the ceremony and cocktail hour. They were willing to work with us to make this flow smoothly and the music came out great for both parts.Round Midnight was amazing. We are so happy that we choose them. A fun, engaging band can really take your event to the next level, and RM certainly brought something special to our wedding celebration. We would highly recommend them to anyone who wants their guest to have a blast and dance the night away.

We were so happy with DJ Brennan Sullivan's work at our wedding. He managed to playall our favorites in a way that really flowed well and matched thecrowd's mood. We've gotten tons of compliments on the music from ourguests since the wedding! Our timeline ended up changingat the last minute when we got behind schedule, but Brennan kepteverything going so smoothly that I don't think any of the guests (oranyone but me and the venue staff) even knew that it wasn't all going exactly as planned! Brennan was very responsive and a pleasure to work with during the planning process.

DJ Brennan Sullivan was wonderful! He DJ'ed our July 2010 wedding - providing music for the outdoor ceremony, the cocktail hour and the reception. He had great suggestions and worked with us to make the music selections exactly what we wanted. DJ Brennan did a great job of reading the crown during the reception and playing music that everyone enjoyed.

When I started researching music for my wedding I wasn't sure what wanted. I contacted Bialek's in late and December and they responded right away with several options that fit my budget. I ended up going with Oasis Island Sounds, a three piece steel drum band, and I couldn't be happier. Peter Humphrey (band leader) has great ideas for ceremony music and how to run the reception. Oasis really made our wedding fun and unique for me and all my guests. Many thanks!!

This is my first online review of anything in my life. Just not a priority. But I thought that in this case, because the experience was so positive, and that a lot of couples on their endless search for great wedding DJs could benefit, I should take the time to give a shout out to Brennan Sullivan of Bialek's.You can have the most beautiful venue, superb food, free-flowing alcohol, but if the music is terrible and doesn’t properly catch the vibe of the crowd and get people to have fun (yes, sometimes they need a little push), all that other stuff is for naught. Brennan makes sure this doesn’t happen.We just got married in DC a week ago, but we first met Brennan in February as we began looking for DJs. He was much different than the others we had met with. The others were way way over the top in their approach and presentation, bordering almost on cheesy, and that just didn’t fit with our personalities and the theme of our wedding. Brennan, besides being super approachable and enthusiastic, came across as an utter professional. He emphasized his flexibility to play any kind of music and simply work with a given playlist, develop his own, or a combo—it was the bride and groom’s choice. Lastly, he explained the details of the cost (which was reasonable) clearly and accurately. We hired him that day.The day after our meeting, Brennan emailed us a number of useful documents that he had prepared based on his years of experience. These documents contained a bunch of sample playlists for the cocktail hour, dancing at the reception and even the processional. It also contained some great info about the order of the processional and typical timelines for a reception (intro, first dance, etc.) that, even though we had attended dozens of weddings over the years, my wife and I had not been paying attention to and were clueless about. This only confirmed to us that we were in good hands w/our music and could now go on and worry about the hundred other things we had to do. He followed up with us several times as the wedding date grew closer, but he was never pushy—he was just checking in, which was good. Finally, when my wife and I had an hour to focus, we sent Brennan a list of songs by email—200 to be exact. Obviously that was ridiculous on our part, but Brennan wasn’t judgmental—he calmly (and correctly) emphasized that it would probably be more useful if we trimmed the playlist down to a “must play” list for the cocktail hour and reception. We did that and in the end, doing the combo of must play and Brennan’s own playlist worked out perfectly. Also, we wanted him to play some Latin songs that many people don't have in their ipod--no problem at all. We simply emailed him the mp3s, he downloaded them and they were all played at the wedding (much to my wife's delight). In addition, we submitted our list of the required wedding ceremony songs, but even though our processional/recessional songs were not traditional classical songs (Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong, Beatles), Brennan was totally supportive and pulled it off without a hitch. In a short second round of emails, I sent him some basic information about the layout of the hotel (the St. Regis, a superb wedding venue by the way) so he could plan on how to move his equipment around, the timeline of the events since he was the “MC”, as well as some general administrative details (suit no tux, etc.). That’s it. A couple of emails and everything was set. Can’t ask for more than that.The wedding day was simply perfect and Brennan played a big role in making it happen. The music, from beginning to end, was amazing, and tracked the mood of the guests perfectly. At the reception, Brennan had everyone dancing from the second that the first dance set began. The dance floor got so crowded that people were dancing on the carpeting outside the dance floor. I had a number of guests rave to me about how great Brennan was in making the wedding, most importantly, fun. Oh yeah, he also did a superb job as the MC—his intros were just right, and he kept things moving along right on time.Really, we can’t say enough good things about Brennan. If you want a talented, knowledgeable, flexible and low maintenance DJ, who’s also a super guy to boot, save yourself some time and just hire him.

OMG!!! That is all I can really say about our band, Black Tie! When people talk about our wedding the first thing they say is, "Your band was AWESOME!" They exceeded my expectations greatly. I was excited for them before the wedding but I never knew they would be that good! They have so much energy that I didn't stop dancing once. When it was time for the reception to end, everyone was shouting for one more. Black Tie absolutely made my wedding! The manager, Strick Bonner, is also very professional and polite. He was very attentive to our requests and helped to make it a spectacular night.

We used Bialek's Music for both our band and our ceremony musician. Let me discuss our amazing band.Black Tie was FABULOUS. Truly they were the best part of the night (even our mini ice cream cones that the caterer passed out during dancing come in second to Black Tie). The vocals are amazing, their song list is current and fresh and they really know how to keep the party going. I knew it was going to be a good night when they started out with Katy Perry's California Girls and went into Lady Gaga. They had my both of my Great Aunts (70years old) dancing with their husbands until they were dripping in sweat. There was a dance off between my husbands 8 year old cousin and my 30 year old best friend. The night was an adventure! They played the twist. The Macarena (yes my husband requested it) and everything in between. LOVED THEM!!!!!

We had Craig Nalley from Bialek's for our wedding. He was extremely well-priced, and he loves what he does. He talked to us for hours via phone leading up to the wedding and was very receptive and open to going over all of our chosen songs. (I would have liked an in-person meeting, as he was our only vendor that we didn't meet face-to-face with.) At the wedding he did everything we wanted him to do and didn't do anything we didn't want him to do (i.e., talk too much, take over the wedding). He was wonderful and we highly recommend him!

Bialek's Music -- more specifically, DJ Brennan Sullivan -- is AWESOME. We can't say enough great things about Brennan. He was fantastic to work with, was incredibly flexible, and truly took the time to understand what we really wanted for our reception (and my fiance and I were incredibly picky about having/not having certain types of music, so I have to give Brennan additional kudos for going above and beyond to make sure we were happy). We've had many friends who were married recently who worked with DJs who had an attitude and were convinced that they knew best and were quick to disregard the bride and groom's wishes, but working with Brennan was the complete opposite: he is not only great at what he does but is an incredibly nice person. My fiance and I LOVED all the music he played at our reception, and our guests told both us and him that his DJ set was one of the best they had heard at a wedding....and we happen to agree. If you're looking for a DJ in the DC area, no other company holds a candle to Bialek's Music and Brennan.

We have just returned from our honeymoon and I wanted to let everyone know what an absolutely wonderful job Brennan Sullivan did at our wedding! We could not have been more pleased and even more, so many other of our guests remarked on what a great DJ he was. Brennan made our wedding and reception exactly as we wanted it to be!! Everyone had a blast, as was evident by the never empty dance floor; he really knew how to "work the crowd". On the night of the event he kept things running smoothly, made the important announcements and transitions at the right time, and read the crowd to keep the dance floor full. He definitely struck the right balance, and was able to incorporate his experience with what he knew we liked for music, and created a most fun atmosphere. Brennan worked diligently with us before the event when I know it may have been tiresome, but he was a champ and a professional in the finest sense of the word. It is evident he knows his profession and takes pride in doing it well. I would highly recommend Brennan Sullivan to anyone who should ever be in need of a great DJ, and perhaps someday we can use him again ourselves!

We loved our DJ, Dan Goldman, from Bialek's Music. He was wonderful and entertaining. We had a list of specific songs that we wanted played and some that we did not want to be played, he stuck to the list and even checked with us before playing a request from one of our guests. He was on time, dressed professionally, and announced everything perfectly. Our main request...to keep the dance floor packed, and that he definitely did!

Brennan Sullivan was the DJ for our wedding. The wedding was AMAZING!!! He did a fantastic job keeping the floor packed, and we all had an amazing time sweating and dancing our lives away. I was really impressed with his attention to detail. Personally, I love the details and even more so when they end up perfectly. Brennan did a wonderful job. It was a great feeling to be able to provide someone with a general idea of what we wanted for music and for them to just be able to run with it. Truly, it was a worry and stress-free evening :) Thank you again for such a WONDERFUL job. Brennan was recommended to us, we will be recommending him to any and all that need a DJ!!! Thank you, Brennan, for making the celebration of our marriage a true hit!

Everyone LOVED DJ BRENNAN SULLIVAN! He was so awesome! He kept the dance floor movin' all night! He was by far one of my favorite vendors that I worked with.Quality: Excellent, he sent us sample lists of what genres he could play way before the day. Our family is a mix of Hispanic and Caucasian so it was very important that he had a variety of Spanish dance songs so that both sides could enjoy some dancing. My only lament is that he didn't play as many Spanish songs as expected but he did what he does best and that is read the crowd.Responsiveness: Brennan was very quick with emails, and good at reminding us that we needed to get our songs in -- politely of course :)Professionalism: Very professional, kind, and always willing to please. We never got attitude from him, and he was one of the only vendors that came up to us at the end of the night to say how much he loved working with us and his thoughts on the evening. That meant a lot to us.Value for the Cost: He was more on the expensive side, but I feel that it was well worth it.Flexibility: We hadn't picked out every single song (like for introductions and dances) so Brennan came up with a list to help us choose. He also picked the introduction song which we didn't hear until the moment, but it was a great choice. We definitely recommend Brennan! :)

First off let me give two reviews. Bialek's was easy to work with in the beginning. We talked to them over a year ago about our band, Galaxy. They were straight forward and everything they said was the truthful. However, after initially taking the effort to get Galaxy's email, the told me that I could not get their phone number until closer to the event and that they would contact me with that. However, I never received an email or a phone call from them regarding it. It is a moot point however since Keith, Galaxy's band leader, gave it to me when I emailed him to introduce myself. I would still use Bialek's again, but a word of advice. If you book a band/dj way out in advance, take the initiative and contact the band/dj or follow up with Bialek's.Now onto Galaxy. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!! Best thing we ever did was get this band. They are so worth the price. The kept the party going and were amazing. Their voices, their enthusiasm was amazing. I would recommend them for any event. Our family and friends are still talking about them 6 weeks later. Again they were spectacular. I would recommend everyday until the day I die, thats how good they were.

We hired the band Encore through Bialek's after they gave us a private audition, it was such an experience! Especially after listening to countless DVDs of so-so bands. They gave us a private concert and we were sold on the spot. And our wedding was not a disappointment! I have SO many emails and messages from friends and family telling us that Encore was the BEST wedding band they had ever heard. From my 30 year old sister, a music fanatic, to our 83 year old grandmother who said she recognized everything they played while she was there - that's quite a feat to impress two such separate personalities and Encore pulled it off SO well! They had everyone up dancing from kids to parents to grandparents. I had friends trying to slip them more money at the end of the night just so they wouldn't stop playing! They were the perfect mix of entertainment, involving people in the audience without being the slightest bit cheesy or overbearing. Their musicality was phenomenal, they can cover pretty much anything!! And they took the time to learn all of our first dance songs which was so much more special than having to play a CD, and they pulled them off flawlessly! It felt like we were listening to the version on our iPod! The acoustics in our venue were tricky because it was a marble room, but they had the volume just right all night. They worked with us before the event to make sure they had all of the details well organized from bridal party announcements to special events, to some special touches they wanted to throw in like our parents first dance songs which was cool. It was such a fun, entertaining and lively evening, everyone had a blast and I know we owe a lot of of that to Encore! People couldn't believe how reasonably priced they were, they thought we had paid 3 times as much as we did for such a large, well-rounded and totally rockin' band!

Dan Goldman was the DJ for our wedding and did a phenomenal job! Dan had provided me with an easy online database where we could upload our choice of music. Although we did not go overboard, Dan was able to accommodate all song requests that were must have. I had just come from a wedding a month ago where the DJ did nothing but play songs catered to an older generation, which the younger crowd found to be dull and boring. Dan proved to be able to get all ages on the dance floor without choosing horrible songs.You can tell he is a true professional. Although it may not mean much, but he was able to pronounce all of the last names when he was given the information last minute. Dan kept the night flowing and everyone was on the dance floor all night long!

My husband and I were so pleased with DJ Brennan Sullivan's service we would recommend him to anyone. From the planning process through the event, Brennan was meticulous and helpful throughout. Specifically, we had a hard time with the mother/son dance and Brennan was able to help us narrow that down. We also had an unusual request for a father/daughter dance and Brennan was able to accommodate us. Despite a rigorous schedule, I felt Brennan was 'with' us the entire event, learning names and making sure people felt comfortable and above anything HAD FUN!!

I cannot say enough about DJ Grimm. He really went above and beyond to make everything special for our wedding day. Not only did he has all different types of music (we had an Indian- American wedding) but he was also very flexible. He really tried to incorporate all the music we really wanted to enjoy and when we really wanted some Indian live music for our cocktail hour and reception, he came early to set some up and even broke out his own set of tablas and started to play the drums during the reception. Everyone thought it was amazing. He also did a fantastic job as an MC. He has a great ability to read the audience and speakers - some of my family and friends were nervous about giving a speech and DJ Grimm made them feel a lot more comfortable. He truly did an amazing job in adjusting to time schedules, incorporating what we wanted and really feeling the crowd. If you go for Bielek's music (the company was very professional) - I would highly recommend requesting DJ Grimm!!

Dave Grimm was an amazing DJ. We were looking specifically for a DJ that was good with mixing many different kinds of music and had familiarity with culturally diverse weddings. He even put together a "mashup" of two songs for our first dance at no extra charge. Dave did all of our ceremony music as well as the rehearsal and he was very easy to work with and made it a night to remember.
