Debbie makes the most delicious cakes ever! Our wedding cake turned out exactly how I had envisioned. Not only was the cake moist and delicious, it was beautiful! People kept raving about how yummy the cake tasted and the kids (and me) absolutely loved the chocolate with chocolate mousse cake. If it wasn't for the second tasting session I attended, I would have never tried the chocolate cake. That's the great thing about Cakes by Design, Debbie offers multiple cake tasting sessions throughout the year. I highly recommend at least attending one tasting session- you'll be sold! I cannot wait to eat my anniversary cake!

Debbie did an a fantastic job on our cake and it tasted amazing!! She was great to work and when she deliverd our cake her team actually helped our wedding coordinator set up our flowers because our florist dropped the ball! I can not say enough how happy we were with her work and her incredible prices, I have referred her business now to two of my friends!

Debbie provided us with 100 cupcakes and an 8 in anniversary cake to cut for our 05/28 wedding. My husband and I were very pleased by the look and taste of our cupcakes and cake which had a delicate design of cherry blossom branches with small cherry blossoms. Our small wedding cake was an ABSOLUTELY delicious red velvet cake with chocolate mouse filling and cream cheese frosting. We got a lot of compliments on the cupcakes even from non-cake eaters. Overall we were very happy with the confections Cake's by design made and would highly recommend them to any bride and grooms to be.

Cakes by Design was an absolutely perfect choice for our cake! I had a picture for two years of what I wanted my cake to look like for our wedding. She matched it perfectly. We had a tasting before our wedding for the flavors. Everything tasted awesome! So fresh & light! We ended up choosing 2 tiers of Chocolate with Raspberry filling & 1 tier of Wedding White with Lemon Chiffon. Our guests couldnt tell us enough how awesome our cake was. We had absolutely NO cake left at the end of the night! Thank goodness we got to keep the top tier for our anniverary! ;) I would highly recommend Cakes by Design to any future bride.Jordan & Niki Lee

Debbie and Cakes By Design were just wonderful to work with. They have monthly tastings, I went to 3! But the cake was so delicious and fresh! I received several compliments on the look and taste of the cake! I was so happy with the result!

The cake for my wedding was delicious. I had multiple people come up and say how much they enjoyed it. The design was perfect and matched well with my invitation and the picture I gave Debbie. I was very happy overall with the cake. Debbie was very responsive to emails and out of all the wedding planning, she was one of the easiest to coordinate and arrange, which was great. The only downside was when we walked in, the cake topper was off the cake. I'm not sure when it happened, so it might not be fair to place it on Cakes by Design's door, but it was an easy fix. Just popped it back on there. If I had to plan everything all over again, I'd still go with Cakes by Design.

All I knew was that I wanted a beautiful AND delicious cake! And in order to achieve the taste, I knew I needed a cake made with real butter, as opposed to oil. When I found Debbie, she just happened to have an Open House several days later which worked out perfectly! Everything was so well done and tasted great that I knew she was my cake person!She was very accomodating and its obvious she has experience and talent. I even gave her a picture of the flower detailing on my dress and she incorporated it into the design of my cake! The design was elegant and beautiful and people kept asking me where my cake was from! Everyone wanted seconds and my mom was even fighting me for me to give her some of our anniversary tier! Overall it was wonderful :-)

Cakes by Design, and the owner Debbie, amazed our guests and me. People continuously commented that our cake was a piece of art, and it was - I pulled together a design from about 5 different pictures. After visiting 3 other vendors, I went to see Debbie during an open house. She had numerous cakes on display and sat down with my coordinator and me. She was very friendly and her prices were more than reasonable.She drafted up a cake based on my pictures and we signed a contract. I have no idea how long it could’ve taken to make this sculpture of a cake but it was perfect – beyond what I could’ve imagined and IT WAS DELICIOUS. As a surprise to me, Debbie even included an extra sheet cake that I got to take home. This woman is AMAZING at what she does, she’s nice, her prices are reasonable. I’d recommend her over anyone and will definitely request her services again! It was a blessing to find her!

Love Cakes by Design! I wish we could order a wedding cake from Debbie every year! :) We ordered four flavors for our wedding cake and I had to make sure I had a taste of each one at our wedding and each one was delicious! My husband and I originally thought we wanted the standard chocolate, vanilla, red velvet type flavors, but after trying some of the other flavors we went with the spice, pineapple upsidedown, carrot and almond (with strawberry and chocolate) cakes and were super excited to serve these yummy and unique flavors at our wedding. Guests raved about the cake! Debbie also made the cake look beautiful incorporating a design my husband drew as well as our cake topper. Definitely recommend Cakes by Design!

Hands down, best cupcakes ever. Debbie was great to work with, even when we changed colors and added a topper at the last minute. But seriously, her cakes WERE AMAZING! We only taste-tested one bakery, which was hers, and went with her as soon as we were done trying her cakes. They tasted exactly like they did during our cake test and all of the guests raved about the delicious cupcakes. We didn't really know what we wanted and she was able to provide excellent, creative ideas. Use cakes by design!!!

Debbie's cakes are incredible! We ordered our wedding cake and an anniversary cake for my husband's parents that was cut at the rehearsal dinner. Our wedding cake looked incredible - the henna design that she piped was spectacular and she was able to do it all in buttercream since we don't like the taste of fondant. Several other people told us that they could not do it in buttercream, but Debbie pulled it off! And the cake was delicious - I ate 2 pieces at the wedding, and we finished off the top tier the next morning at my parents' house. The anniversary cake didn't even last the whole weekend! It was a chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercream frosting - we had about 3/4 left after the rehearsal dinner, but our family and wedding party devoured it on Friday and Saturday night - there was only one bite left at the morning after brunch on Sunday! Her cakes were both moist and beautiful and she is priced very reasonably. Highly, highly recommend Debbie!

Debbie was excellent and easy to work with; her cakes are DELICIOUS! She did both our wedding cake and the groom's cake (a Purdue football stadium), which I was able to surprise my husband with. We received compliments on how great the cake tasted, and on the fact that she put our dog as part of our wedding cake (her suggestions when I said I wanted to incorporate Marley into our cake). Everyone thought the Purdue stadium looked real, including my husband. I would totally recommend her. I also think she has an excellent price for her delicious cakes - I've heard of people spending double what we spent on the cakes, and it's entirely unnecessary when you can have Debbie's cakes!

Our cake by Cakes by Design was the only wedding cake we needed to taste! We signed up on the spot after tasting the vanilla chocolate marble cake with vanilla frosting. Although all of her flavors were so delicious, we couldn't decide on just one and ended up with three different flavor tiers! We had been doing a lot of more mundane wedding planning activities and decided we needed to have some fun one day and stumbled upon one of Debbie's wedding tasting events in Occoquan. It was the most fun part of the planning process :)! Debbie took the idea we had in our mind for our cake and translated it perfectly! She was very flexible and responsive. The cake was delivered on time, looked beautiful, and tasted SO good! All of our guests who have sent pictures of the big day all included a picture of the cake, it was clearly a centerpiece of the room! It will be a challenge to save our top tier for our first anniversary, we've already wanted to dive into several times :).

We got numerous compliments on our cake. One guest even told us that he and another guest grabbed extra slices. Of course, the only taste I had was during the cake cutting but it was so good that I can't wait for our 1 year anniversary so I can dig into the anniversary tier we received.Debbie is very friendly and responsive on emails. After our first cake tasting, we decided on a flavor combo that she didn't have available at the open house so she offered to have that flavor combo at her next open house so we could come by again to try it. And she told us we were welcome to come to any of her future open houses for more cake tasting if we wanted to.The price was very reasonable too. We also wanted fresh flowers on our cake so Debbie ordered those for us since we did our own flowers for the reception and wouldn't have a florist there.

I had a wonderful experience with Debbie and Cakes by Design. She first came to my attention because of her business' location (very close to my home), but the deal was sealed once I had the opportunity to visit one of her open houses and taste her cake. It is moist, scrumptious, and there are so many delicious flavors to choose from. She suggested we do more than one flavor (actually, we did 3!) and there was no additional cost. The day of our wedding Debbie actually had another event that evening, so she personally delivered our wedding cake earlier in the day to accommodate us, and our event was about an hour or so away. The final product was exactly what I had envisioned - both the look of it as well as the taste. Our wedding guests RAVED to me at the reception about how delicious it was, and everyone had a different favorite flavor. My personal favorite was the red velvet cake. I gave CBD a 3-star rating for responsiveness, because there were a couple occasions when I called Debbie to ask a question and I did not hear back from her until I followed up with an email. I think she was having issues with her phone or something.I highly recommend this business. If I throw another big party in the future, I'll be calling Debbie for a cake!

They seem to be able to do pretty much anything and were able to help us explain exactly what we had envisioned.They are always willing to work with you and your budget.A great find and value!

Debbie was wonderful to work with and I'm really pleased with how things came out. When we asked her to create a specific flavor, she happily did so, and invited us to a second tasting so we could check out the results. The chocolate ganache & grand marnier flavor she created for us was perfect. The cake fit our style perfectly - it was simply, elegant and a little funky. I couldn't have asked for more.

Debbie was very friendly and accomodating. The cake was very yummy. We already ate the top of our cake less than 1 month after we married. The cake was exactly the way I asked for it to look. It was delivered on time with no problems. The cake was affordable for the area we live in and her delivery fee was reasonable.
