Judith did a moderate amount of alterations on my wedding dress - skirt hem and bodice had to be taken in a little bit at the bust. However, the alterations were trickier than they appeared, as my skirt was primarily organza, and any lack of attention to detail could have really messed up the lines, but she did a great job. It was also a really heavy dress, and she did a 12-point bustle that held up through most of the evening, color-coding the buttons so my bridesmaids could figure it out! You can tell from talking to her in the first meeting that she really knows her stuff. Thanks Judith!

I did not purchase my gown from Judith, but she was more than willing to help me alter the gown (it was missing a panel in the back). It was small work, but she did it anyway. She even advised on how the dress should be put on. She also made me a shawl, in case I needed it for the weather.
Though she could have provided me the services, she advised against cleaning and steaming my gown because our wedding was in Pittsburgh. She recognized that if she steamed it, it would be wrinkled by time we got to Pittsburgh. The stains at the bottom of my dress were unnoticeable, so she recommended that I save my money. True enough, it rained on my wedding day. And I was able to get out all the wrinkles with a borrowed a steamer.
Judith is awesome! She will not only help you with your dress needs, but she can give you great dress-related advice as well!

Judith was wonderful! She did a wonderful job on my dress. I lost weight and had to have the dress re-altered. She fit me in and did a wonderful job both times.
She is very easy to work with!

Judith did a fantastic job with the alterations for my wedding dress. My dress was a layer of satin with a lace and beaded overlay and Judith had no problem hemming it, taking it in at the sides and up at the shoulders. Her attention to detail preserved the look of the dress and the delicate nature of the lace. Perhaps most important, Judith was fun to work with and she made me feel awesome! Judith did great work and she worked quickly! I highly recommend Judith for all of your alterations!

Judith did a wonderful job with the alterations for my wedding gown. The quality of work and value were outsatnding. Not only did she shorten and bustle my gown, she took a back bow off and moved some covered buttons that unless you knew the original design you would think the dress was always that way! Thank you, Judith!

My daughter got married October 8, 2011. I am the mother of the bride and purchased a dress from Nordstom's. I needed to have the dress taken in at the sides and hemmed. A friend of mine, whom had recently gotten married and needed her wedding dress altered, recommended Judith's Boutique. I contacted her, made the appointment, and she made the alterations. My dress fit perfectly. The work was also done in a timely manner. Her prices were very reasonable. In retrospect, I wish we had taken my daughter there to get her wedding dress altered, considering alterations cost almost $600.00, in addition to the cost of the dress. I would highly recommend Judith's Boutique and Alterations to anyone who needs needs this service. I will certainly be using her again in the future if the need arises.

Judith did a beautiful double french bustle on my lace wedding gown. It was very complex, and she did it in a short amount of time for a very reasonable price.

Judith was great to work with! She is professional, easy to reach, responsive, and will take the time to make sure your dress is just right. I got nervous the day of my appointment about leaving my dress with a stranger, but as soon as I got there Judith put me at ease. She has a lot of talent and knowledge. She also strikes a great balance on giving the customer what they want while also giving her opinion when it’s asked for. Highly recommended for any bride!

Judith *really* knows what she's doing and will work with you to come out with your dream dress, fitted to your body exactly how you want it to be. She is so affordable - I was shocked when I got her bill (I had expected it to be hundreds higher). I am so glad I chose to go with Judith, especially since I purchased the dress in Rockville but live in Northern Virginia and really didn't want to drive back and forth to Rockville. Vienna was no problem. The store where I bought the dress did their own alterations, but after reading reviews, I knew I wanted Judith.
She works in the basement of an office building, so don't be confused when driving up. The nice thing about Judith is that when you call and speak to someone about your dress, or email her, you're getting her!
My only recommendation is - review different bustle styles online before bringing your dress in, so you aren't like a deer caught in headlights like I was, when asked what I wanted. I had no idea. While she picked a style that worked perfectly for the dress, I wish I had known, just for myself before heading in there. Make sure you have your strapless bra and shoes for the day with you before heading to your first visit!
I have absolutely no qualms about recommending Judith to anyone and everyone - you can't beat her price and expertise.

I went to another alternations place in Rosslyn and almost cried leaving when I randomly google searched another tailor nearby and found Judith. The first woman was going to charge $1000 for alterations. I had bought my gown from Kleinfeld's during a trunk sale and it was bridal size 8. I am a size 2 or 4 so it was big on me. All I really needed was for it to be taken in, hemmed and bustled. I thought the 1G was outrageous. The woman prior used every trick in the book, including emotional threats and fear saying, "you don't want to take it to David's Bridal and have them stuff it up then I would have to fix it at a later date and it would cost you twice."
So then I went to Judith's. She was very professional, gave a much more reasonable quote and friendly. She was on-time and we had 2 fittings before she pressed the dress for the big day. I was very happy working with her.

Judith did an awesome job with altering my wedding dress and steaming it. I bought my dress at another store and did not have a great experience with them, so I did not trust them to alter it. But I completely trusted Judith from the moment I met her. She not only altered my dress, but she gave me advice on the veil to buy, the lingerie I should wear under my dress, and shoes. The day of the wedding when I picked it up after it was steamed, she was more concerned than I was about it getting wrinkled going back in the bag. Her attention to detail and quality of the alteration was wonderful. She is a true professional who definitely knows what she is doing.

Judith was great...very friendly, easy going, and professional. Excellent work with quick turnaround. She had lots of ideas, and helped me create the right look for my wedding gown: she took a little out in the bust and put in 2 French and 4 American bustles for about $120. Would definitely recommend her for wedding gown alterations, her specialty.

Alterations, albeit expensive, were done in a rapid fashion. Not the easiest to find, but I am impressed with the quality and rapid fashion of the service. Would definitely recommend to others.

Judith was absolutely amazing. I got my dress from Filene's basement Running of the Brides 9 months before my wedding. I bought the dress three sizes too small. When I lost enough weight to really fit the dress, it ended up being a little big, specifically in the chest area. It was laying on me a little weird just weeks before the wedding, and I was panicked that it would look bad on my wedding day. I didn't really think anything could be done, but Judith could tell how nervous I was about it, and she spent extra time to work with me to make sure we got it right. She helped me so much and really took so much stress away from me for my wedding day. No one wants to be self conscious when they're walking down the aisle and Judith took that feeling away for me. She was wonderful! She also built a gorgeous bustle into the dress. She showed us lots of different options on how it should be done. She also made lots of little suggestions to improve the dress that I never would have thought of without her. She is a real expert and knows what she's doing!
