Working with Jim was a pleasure and we would highly recommend him as an officiant. We originally chose him based on all of the reviews we had read, and after our first meeting with him, we were very pleased. He is just a great person to talk to, and he really has a great approach to the ceremony. Jim will tailor it according to all of your requests, and he is incredibly organized throughout the process. At the first meeting, he gives you a planning packed that is easy to use to select how you'd like your ceremony to flow. After the first meeting, all you have to do is meet with him a second time, so there is no hassle. The best part about Jim is that he really put us as ease after the second meeting with regard to how the ceremony would be run. He told us not to worry and that he would go and meet everyone involved in the ceremony beforehand (i.e. readers) and would whisper cues to us that no one would see so that we knew where to stand and look. An added bonus is that he knows the majority of the vendors in the area, so he knew our venue well and also knew our string quartet, so he served as the cue person for the music as well. All of our guests commented on how nice the ceremony was, and Jim made it a point to go and mingle with family and friends, and he even took a picture in our photo booth. He is just a great person and I cannot imagine a more organized or helpful officiant. If you're considering him, at least set up an initial meeting - there is no pressure to sign any paperwork that first...

Jim did an amazing job on our ceremony! My husband and I really enjoyed the ceremony. He speaks so well on love and made our guests feel like he knew us for years! He was very responsive and always willing to work with us on any suggestion we had. We would highly recommend Jim to anyone looking for an officiant in the area.

I went to a ceremony 8 years ago that Jim officiated and knew if I ever got married I would want Jim to officiate. As soon as I got engaged in December 2010 I called up my friends who Jim married and got his information. My (now)husband and I met with Jim and I was pleased to find he was as welcoming, wise, witty and calm as he had seemed during the ceremony he had officiated many years ago. Jim gave us time to review our options and to contact him if we decided to go with him. My normally cautious husband was ready to jump in that day with Jim just based on a few minutes together. Jim was responsive, professional and had an oracle like quality of predicting what we might need to do and things to watch out for. I could not have asked for a better presence along our engagement journey. I cannot even begin to tell you how many friends and family came up to me throughout the reception and in the past few weeks to tell me how much they enjoyed Jim and the ceremony he performed. His ceremony set the tone for the rest of the wedding day and that tone was top-notch, spiritual and sincere. I give Jim my highest recommendation and have already forwarded his information to all of my friends and family, per their request.

Jim Burch officiated our ceremony and it was beautiful and unique. He was easy to reach and very helpful. We were able to customize our vows and it all flowed great. On the day of the wedding we were able to relax and Jim coached us through the ceremony when we got stuck without it being obvious or embarassing. Great guy!

Jim was wonderful to work with. My husband and I are both extremely happy with his presence at our wedding. He was a joy to work with, and he was always kind and positive, professional, and prompt. His love for weddings is evident in all our photos too, where he is always smiling, and genuinely looks like he truly loves what he does!!! He also has a way of including everyone on the guest list, so that everyone can relate to the wedding regardless of religion, faith, or cultural background. Our wedding was a Christian wedding; however, Jim goes out of his way to speak to everyone, and I think he has a passion for trying to unite people as one. We were very happy with our choice to work with Jim. He put us at ease on our wedding day, and he knew exactly what to do, even when we didn't. It was a lovely day, perfect in every way!

Jim Burch did a great job with our wedding ceremony. We knew we wanted an unconventional service, but we weren't sure what that would look like. He provided just what we needed, which was a "choose your own adventure"-type booklet that provided different options we could combine to create a service that suited our beliefs, personalities, and family situation. I admit I was a little nervous going right into the ceremony without practicing (Jim doesn't do rehearsals), but everything went just fine, as he had assured us it would. He discreetly gave us cues so we would know where to stand and what to say. A number of people commented on how well he worked my now-stepson into the ceremony, and my mom especially liked what Jim had to say on energy and spirituality. When one of our two canine ringbearers started to "talk," Jim handled it really well. Overall, the ceremony was lovely, and we especially appreciated how Jim worked with us to adapt it for our new family.

Jim was a truly wonderful officiant who helped to make our wedding day incredibly special! From the moment we first met with him, we found him to be exactly what we were looking for in the individual who would conduct our marriage ceremony. He is warm, kind, caring, and a most genuine, down to earth person. We enjoyed working with him professionally and also getting to know him personally. He helped to put us very much at ease in our first meeting and made us both feel very comfortable leading up to and on our big day. The special, personal touches he added to our ceremony meant a great deal to us both and will be gratefully and eternally remembered.

What made our ceremony even more special was the fact that my husband and I were able to build the ceremony ourselves, making it truly personal. Rev. Jim did a wonderful job as our officiant! We were married at Chesapeake Beach Resort, and he came highly recommended; I can see why! He was patient, responsive, and worked with our needs and wants. My hubby was deployed up until a couple months before the wedding, and as we live out of state, they didn't have a chance to meet prior- but Jim made Dan feel completely comfortable. Our guests complimented how beautiful our ceremony was, and Dan and I know that we got exactly what we were looking for. Even when I tried to put the ring on the wrong hand (oops! LOL!), Jim made us feel comfortable, at ease and not "stuffy". Thank you Jim, for making such an important part of our day so special!

Jim Burch was our wedding Officiant and he did a wonderful job. He tailors each part of the ceremony to your liking and gives you plenty of wiggle room to make the ceremony come together to represent the couple. Jim was personable and was easiest to reach by phone, even though he does email too. We had to meet twice before the wedding and spoke on the phone a few times as well. He has been doing this for years and his experience shows. Everyone commented on how beautifully the ceremony and words were. Thank you Jim!

We thoroughly enjoyed every interaction we had with Jim. He is a pleasant person to be with and have conversation with. Our guests loved the ceremony and we had people flocking to us at the reception asking who he was and where we had found Jim. We met with Jim several months before the wedding and immediately decided we wanted him to officiate our wedding. We them met with him again a few weeks before the wedding to plan the processional and ceremony. Because he has done this thousands of times before, everything was organized and well documented. He found me before the ceremony to see how I was doing, involved our wedding party and had them sign a witness form, and made everything flow seamlessly. The ceremony was even better than I had expected.

Rev. Jim Burch was perfect for us! We had dreamed of an outdoor wedding but still wanted to be able to incorporate our faith into the ceremony. He helped us to tailor the ceremony to fit us perfectly. Jim had so many wonderful suggestions and options that it made choosing every important little detail easy and stress free. We were so comfortable meeting with him prior to our wedding day that we had no worries about how the ceremony would go. My husband and I, as well as our family and friends, were truly touched by the words that Jim spoke about us and love. I also love that he gave us the entire ceremony typed up to keep so that we can look back and read it years from now and remember how special it was for all of us. Do yourself a favor and call him!

We absolutely loved having Jim as our officiant. He was so flexible with our difficult schedules and really made our wedding a joy and one we will remember for the rest of our lives. Everything went so smoothly just following his guidance, we didn't have to worry about a thing when the Big day came. He really let us create our very own ceremony to cherish for a lifetime.

Finding an officiant was not easy after many phone calls most of the officients wanted me to write my own ceremony from scratch or just seemed odd in one way or another. Then I called Rev Jim, who couldn't be nicer and easier to talk to. He was exactly what we were looking for and he made our lives so easy by having a pre-written selections we could choose from. The ceremony itself was amazing and his words were so sincere, we received a lot of compliments on this and many people asked for his contact information! It was a great combination of religion, but down to earth relatable words. My parents did not meet Jim until the day of the ceremony but instantly loved him. My husband and I couldn't have picked a better officiant for our wedding and we highly recommend him to all couples!

Jim was wonderful. We loved how much experience he had, and his ceremony very well written. He allowed us to mold and edit the ceremony to suit our particular beliefs, which made the ceremony exactly perfect for us and our guests. The audience interaction that he does is fantastic.
